Going up or going down?, 2022
Going up or going down?, 2022

Quitting is hard, but not as hard as staying somewhere that no longer grows or excites me. Turning down an opportunity I believe in would be even harder. So what makes quitting so daunting?

  1. I feel like I own them to be successful? But, do I really?

  2. I'm worried about letting people down. But I shouldn't light myself on fire to keep others warm.

  3. It feels selfish putting my needs first. But taking care of me allows me to better help others.

  4. I'm comfortable here. But growth happens outside my comfort zone.

  5. It's easier to stay put. Sure, but since when did easy make me feel alive?

  6. The unknown is scary. But I can't steal second with your foot still on first.

  7. It seems disloyal. But loyalty to myself matters too.

  8. My work is unfinished. But if I stay just for closure, I’ll never leave. Time to pass the baton.

  9. It’s easier to avoid conflict. But as Cliff Burton said, “It is better to die on your feet than live on your knees”.

  10. I'll be starting over. Nope, I'm starting something new while bringing all my best with me.

  11. Maybe I'm making a mistake. Could be! But I'd rather stumble going for my dreams than play it safe. No regrets.

For every reason it's hard, there's an equal reason it's right. Let’s go!
